Occupational Therapist - Full Time or Part Time

Up to $69,034 annually depending upon experience

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  1. Must have or be eligible for certification by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  2. Hold or be eligible to hold an OTA License through the Colorado Department of Education.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in school settings preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Carry out individual assessments or screening procedures in the area of gross, fine and visual motor coordination, visual perception and daily living skills under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  2. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills (i.e. written reports, school staffings, interagency communication and with colleagues, parents and community).
  3. COTA's will collaborate with OT to plan, develop and carry out therapeutic intervention goals that are educationally relevant.
  4. Complete all necessary due process and staffing records required by Elizabeth School District and the Colorado Department of Education.
  5. Attend school staffings, staff meetings, inservices and other school meetings, when appropriate.
  6. Demonstrate ability and desire to function as a team member.
  7. Provide consultation to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, parents and related agencies.
  8. Maintain current knowledge and skills required to assess and service the needs of students.
  9. Maintain a system of documentation that is professional, efficient, accountable and conforms to state and ESD policy.
  10. Perform other duties, as requested or assigned by the Special Education Director (i.e. preschool/infant screenings, committees or special projects).
