Long-term Substitute Middle School Religion and History Teacher

Shrine Catholic High School & Academy is in Royal Oak, MI at the corner of 13 Mile Rd and Woodward Avenue. QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers should try to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach, but it is not required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all learners in a learner-centered and collaborative environment.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods of instruction.
  • Implement research-based practices including differentiated instruction.
  • Consistently create a high level of active student engagement and student-led learning.
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process including a FACTS Student Information System and the Google Suite. (Including Google Classroom)
  • Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, spiritual, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Code of Conduct
  • Create an environment of respect and rapport, rooted in faith.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, principals, colleagues, and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly using FACTS.

  • 2 sections of 7th Grade History
