Job Title: Summer Literacy Academy Nurse
Location: Wesley Elementary School
Broad Function:
The Summer Literacy Academy Teacher, reporting to the Summer Literacy Academy Coordinator will plan and implement Balanced Literacy instruction,
Personalized Learning (FootSteps2Brilliance/Summer Climb/iReady) for students entering grades 1-5.
Compensation:
$44.00 per hour
Schedule:
Pre-academy preparation and staff meeting July 6th-July 7th, 8:30-3:30
SLA will be 4 weeks, July 10th-August 4th, Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30
Qualifications:
Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Have current CPR certification as well as experience working with the pediatric population in the areas of first aid, and chronic illness management such as: asthma, diabetes and epilepsy, to name a few
Excellent documentation skills.
Additional preferred skills include:
Excellent critical decision-making and interpersonal skills,
Practiced experience in utilizing stress/anxiety reducing coping skills such as deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation and/or mindfulness with children.
Preference will be given to candidates with school nursing experience.
