Position: School Duty Aides

Reports to: Building Principal
Theory of Action for Middletown Public Schools: If Middletown believes that every student has the right quality, student-centered education, THEN adults will cultivate creative, accessible, and innovative structures and opportunities with students, AND every student will demonstrate personalized growth and achieve at high levels to thrive in life.
Broad Functions: School Duty Aides work at the direction of the building principal to provide a variety of support services to the school building and its daily operations including but limited to monitoring and assisting students during meal times in the school cafe, delivery of breakfast or lunch meals to student classrooms or locations as determined by the building administration, assisting classroom teachers with light clean up of class/learning areas after meal services, potentially monitoring hallways, school bathrooms and water fill stations and may assist with other tasks as needed.
Schedule, Salary & Benefits: Compensation for Duty Aidesis $14 per hour until June 2023. Duty Aides will work 20 hours per week for four (4) hours a day Monday to Friday. Duty Aides work on each school day. No benefits are associated with this position.
Qualifications: The candidate must have the ability to work within school settings with minor children and associated operational needs, pace and culture. Must also have the ability to lift objects of 25 pounds for the duration of the scheduled shift, able to commit to daily and punctual attendance throughout the duration of the academic year, the ability to interact with children and adults in a pleasant, professional manner at all times and be at least 18 years old.
