    Duties
  • Serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation, presentation and the serving or delivery of light food items offered for sale to patrons.
  • Greets customers as they arrive at the service counter and takes orders.
  • Performs expeditor duties by delivering food to customers or bringing out food to a service buffet area.
  • Performs, a variety of duties incident to the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the area to which assigned.
  • Orders and/or aids in loading and unloading, stocking, or transporting items and supplies as necessary.

  • Willing to work in a work area that is often hot and noisy, exposure to sun, minor cuts and bruises, burns and scalds, danger of slipping on floors which are wet from daily mopping or spilled food or beverages.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment as applicable to duties.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, chapter 2, is required.
  • Must possess the physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, reach and stoop on a constant basis.


  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will possess the following:
  • Experience or training indicating you:
  • Can work without more than normal supervision.
  • Can keep things neat, clean, and in order.
  • Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques (e.g., washing handing when handling food, not touching rims or cups, etc.).
  • Can interpret verbal and written instructions.
  • Know basic sanitation principles (e.g., sanitation, safety standards and methods to clean areas and equipment).
  • Can use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Know basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order to determine the number of portions required, take orders and provide change.
  • Can follow oral instructions, standard procedures and the sequence of tasks to complete assignment.
  • Can complete tasks with several steps or used judgment in a sequence of tasks.
  • Know portion sizes and have the concentration needed to serve uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction.
  • Can follow safety rules, regulations and procedures regarding food safety, sanitation and equipment use.
  • Can communicate and deal with guests in order to provide good customer service when taking orders and delivering food/drink items.

  • Allowances, differentials, or incentives will be paid.
  • Federal Wage System (NA, NL, NS position) employees will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5 percent for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work falls between the hours of 1500 and 2400 AND a night shift differential of 10 percent of the scheduled rate if most non-overtime work hours occur between 2300 and 0800. Sunday premium pay is 25 percent f basic pay. Regular, including those in a limited tenure appointment category, and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay.
