Qualifications:
Required

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
• Five (5) years of progressively more responsible bilingual language experience, with proficiency in Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Urdu, or another language represented in significant numbers within the FCPS student population.
• Knowledge and understanding of the culture and customs of the designated language within countries.
• Knowledge of specific school-based terminology, such as special education vocabulary.
• Skill in interview and conference techniques.
• Proficiency in the use of technology.
• Ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with culturally diverse students, families, and staff.
• Ability to provide guidance and maintain confidentiality, at all times.
• Ability to participate in professional development activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to fluently and effectively communicate in both English and the designated language, orally and in writing.
