Job Description

Here's what you should know:

KIPP New Jersey is looking for Technology Support Interns to prepare our schools for the upcoming school year. This is a paid position that reports to the Technology Manager, Cody Tanner ( ctanner@kippnj.org ). The summer internship will run from June 12th-September 1st. Interns will be required to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm which includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch.

The objective of this position is to provide the required support and services to our schools that includes maintenance, new device deployments, and retirement of aged out devices. The ultimate goal is to ensure that all our schools and classrooms are in optimal condition for the upcoming school year. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of up to 10 interns and 5 full time technology specialists.

This is what your typical day will look like.

June and July
  • Breakdown, re-wire, and deploy computers into carts
  • Unbox and deploy student computers
  • Align classroom projectors and replace lamp/filters
  • Inventory all technology equipment
  • Install VOIP phones

August
  • Finishing up any June/July tasks not completed
  • Work side by side with our techs to support our schools and staff by responding to technology tickets
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, and tablets
  • Setup & configure new printers
  • Regular check-ins with the Technology Manager

Qualifications

Must haves
\nRequired Hands-on experience with the following:
  • Installing and configuring Windows 10
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, and tablets.
  • Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, Wireless
  • Meticulous analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work independently
