Assistant Superintendent
Qualifications:
Masters Degree required
Principal experience required
Experience with design and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment processes
Experience with Federal Grants writing, budgeting, monitoring, and compliance
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
Reports To:
Superintendent
Supervises:
Personnel associated with the work of the position and assigned by the Superintendent.
Job Goal:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, provides leadership in developing, achieving and
maintaining highly effective educational programs and services. Provides support to schools implementing district adopted curriculum, district infrastructures, and instructional improvement programs. Coordinates and supervises the curriculum development and primary resource selection process, the district testing program, and district grant writing and monitoring. Promotes and supports the District's efforts to achieve educational excellence for all students. Provides oversight of the delivery of an effective, innovative, and equitable instructional program. Serves as the School Improvement officer.

Job Goal:

Performance Responsibilities:
- Serve in the absence of the Superintendent as Chief Executive Officer of the District
- Work directly with the Superintendent to accomplish the mission, vision and goals of the district
- Assume shared responsibility with the Superintendent for all types of public information activities in an effort to ensure support of district goals
- Attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate programs and personnel in areas as assigned
- Review and approve home school requests
- Lead a rigorous school improvement process that results in improved student achievement
- Support school leaders in implementation of school improvement initiatives that positively impact school culture, standards, assessment, and instruction
- Lead the implementation and integration of evidence-based instructional and leadership strategies to ensure the growth and success of all schools
- Allocate and monitor mentoring, coaching, and instructional resources to provide differentiated support to schools as needed
- Coordinate staff development efforts to support curriculum, instruction and assessment, instruction methodology, and pedagogy
- Provide coaching for school leaders in the evaluation of teachers
- Direct processes related to the development, evaluation and revision of curriculum and content standards for all content areas.
- Establish and direct district committees to oversee the curriculum development process
- Assist administrators and teachers with horizontal and vertical articulation of curriculum
- Oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of CTE initiatives
- Coordinate and supervise the selection process for instructional resources and the addition or deletion of course offerings
- Coordinate all district testing programs and work closely with the District Test Coordinator to ensure State and Federal testing requirements are met
- Develop and administer budgets for state funds and federal grant programs associated with the position, including oversight of applicable accounting of expenses and revenue tracking.
- Submit documents for State and Federal Grants for the district.
- Ensure compliance for State and Federal Grants and Programs.
- Direct the accreditation process to ensure the district meets the Wyoming Department of Education regulations
- Update and maintain the district report card
- Attend conferences and training sessions as necessary to keep abreast of changes and trends in all areas related to this position
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent
