The Office of Family Ministry assists Families of Parishes in their work to support families (Marker 7.1) by providing training, resources, and referrals to offer support groups, workshops, events, and other ministries. This is one of the five Mission Direct positions that is responsible for the promotion of Marriage as a second catechumenate and the formation and strengthening of the Domestic Church. The Family Ministry Intern works to support the Associate Director, Specialists and Coordinators in the Family Ministry Office and other offices within the Department of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship working to build up the domestic Church.

Essential functions
  • Update and maintain online Family Ministry resources.
  • Design and distribute monthly newsletters from the Family Ministry Office
  • Attend team meetings and training as needed.

Physical demands
Position requires the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing/or pulling of objects and materials (5-50 pounds). May involve extended periods of time standing or sitting at a keyboard or workstation. May involve repetitive motion (i.e., typing). May involve walking long distances.

Required education and experience.
  • 1 year completed college coursework.
Preferred education and experience
  • 2 years completed college coursework in theology, ministry, computer sciences, English, communications, or related field.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English with ability to provide written translation for small projects.
Additional eligibility requirements
  • Certificate of completion of Protecting God's Children or willingness to attend workshop within first 90 days of hire.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have experience with Office 365
