Position Summary

The National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC), is an independent organization headquartered in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The NBCC promotes the freedom and growth of African Americans as full participants in church and society by working to improve their spiritual, mental, and physical conditions in their community and parish life. NBCC programs (workshops, conventions, etc.) attract clergy, religious and lay leaders nationwide.

The Program Coordinator is the operations staff member for the National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC). The Program Coordinator is an administrative professional specialized in managing, coordinating, and overseeing the planning, implementing, marketing, and evaluating different programs and projects.

We are looking for a competent Program Coordinator to take the lead on our projects and provide day-to-day oversight of administrative and operational functions in an effort to achieve sustainability and success in accordance with defined targets, strategies, and goals. The Program Coordinator assists the Executive Director in administering NBCC programs. Must be available for occasional travel and after-hours work.

Essential Functions
  • Research and post articles, videos, news, and calendar of events using the Word Press software for the NBCC website,

  • Identify relevant Black Catholic community content for NBCC social media pages; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Post daily.
  • Plan, coordinate, collaborate, and follow up with event planners, hotel administration and staff, board members, team leaders, youth and young adult teams, and others.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with sponsoring organizations by email and mail.
  • Write the NBCC annual report, press releases, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Grant writing capabilities preferred.
  • Ensure workflows are set up for success and goals and milestones are met in a timely manner. Ensures programs are on schedule within stated budgets and functioning properly.
  • Support program growth and development as necessary.
  • Supervises staff in the absence of the Executive Director.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Word Press, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other business software systems.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to endure and persevere well in a high-producing environment and meet deadlines.

Experience in coordinating programs on a national or local level.

Self-motived, professional demeanor and collaborative spirit.

A desire to promote the mission of the NBCC.

Knowledge of the Catholic Church and African American community preferred.
