This vacancy is the result of temporary funding through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER). The duration of the funding means the position is temporary and may last for one, two, or three years. Hired candidates may be excessed or non-renewed from the position for the following school year.

Reports to: Asst. Superintendent for Inclusive Education

General Description:
Boston Public Schools is the largest school district in New England. The Office of Special Education supports the education of over 10,000 students with disabilities in the city. We work with students and families to make sure students with disabilities have everything they need to get the best education possible. We are working to build more inclusive, excellent and equitable learning environments for our students with disabilities in every school in the city.

The Inclusion Project Administrator will support the Office of Special Education in expanding inclusion and inclusive practices at schools across the district. The focus of this role will be to support the Principal on Assignment - Inclusion with all project management and coordination for the Inclusion Project. This individual should be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.

Job Duties:
  • The Inclusion Project Administrator will deliver on project management, strategic coordination, and implementation support for the Inclusion Project
  • Develop and maintain a project plan that the team will develop with input from stakeholders and leadership, including tracking deadlines and ensuring on time performance for deliverables
  • Coordinate and manage the scheduling for all of the different work streams/working groups related to the project
  • Create communications materials and briefs to communicate internally and externally about the progress of the project
  • Coordinate and and manage financial aspects of the Inclusion Project including purchasing of supplies, executing contracts and tracking ESSER expenditures and filling out of reports.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Principal on Assignment for Inclusion or the Assistant Superintendent for Special Education.
Qualifications - Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years administrative, managerial or project management experience
  • Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Mastery of Google Office suite (Sheets, Slides, Word Doc)
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and negotiate comfortably with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Successful experience working in a team-oriented environment; experience interacting with multiple internal/external stakeholder groups
Qualifications - Preferred:
  • 2+ years experience or more working in an urban, governmental, or public education setting
  • Experience with project management templates or relevant software
  • Experience with and understanding of special education in the Boston Public Schools
