Christ the King Catholic School in Detroit, Michigan seeks an educational leader who possesses a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and Catholic education. The school educates a diverse group of students in prekindergarten through grade eight. The school is part of a long-standing parish community of Northwest Detroit; however, many students come from areas outside the parish boundaries to receive the benefit of a Catholic school education. Christ the King Catholic School is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools. The new principal should be prepared to work closely with the pastor, faculty, staff, and parents as well as working with the Archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools to ensure the vitality of our school.

Desired Qualifications
  • A faith-filled practicing Catholic who will embrace and promote the Catholic identity of the school
  • Master's Degree with a certificate in Educational Administration
  • K-12 teaching experience in Catholic schools
  • Educational leadership experience
  • A relational, collaborative servant-leader who will connect joyfully and genuinely with all students, parents, colleagues, and other key stakeholders and is adept at building relationships
  • Adept at building and growing an organization/institution
  • A mentor who will recognize the critical role of all faculty and staff and celebrate their achievements in fulfilling the vital mission of the school
  • Skilled in administering disciplinary and dismissal actions which are fair, just and virtuous
  • Proven skill in recruiting, supporting, developing, and motivating high-quality faculty and staff
  • Understands and leads curriculum development, small group and workshop instruction, and a variety of student assessment procedures
  • Experience with critical areas of school leadership including development, enrollment management, school finances, program development, faculty, and staff support
