Job Details

Belmont Charter Network supports special education students by utilizing one on one support during the school day. Flexibility is needed in this role as there may be times when support is provided to more than 1 special education student. Persons in this role will be under the supervision of the special education manager/coordinator at each school.

Job Responsibilities and Skills
  • Strictly adhere to any schedule that is provided
  • Stay in close proximity to a student/s unless otherwise determined by the special education manager
  • Sign in and out daily in order to receive pay
  • Build a relationship and rapport with the student/s to create trust and reliance
  • Build a relationship, rapport and a team approach with the classroom teachers.
  • Communicate effectively with the students and classroom teachers while being able to take direction and feedback from teachers
  • Maintain all documentation asked of you in regards to the student/s
  • Follow guidance of the manager and classroom teacher in regards to parent communication
  • Adhere to the policies of the school especially in regards to the use of technology and cell phones.
  • Address the needs of the student/s in accordance with their IEP
  • Some days demand flexibility as support needs arise
  • Adhere to attendance and call out policies for each school
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communications.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114)
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168)
