The Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives reports to the Chief of Staff. The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of District-wide strategic plans.

The Project Manager will interface with various departments across the District to support project teams within and across these departments in order to integrate changes to academic and operational systems, structures and training programs. This includes coordinating resources and timelines across multiple district work streams, overcoming challenges encountered during implementation, and ensuring that project deadlines and timelines are met. The Project Manager will focus on the execution of projects as directed by the Chief of Staff.

Support Exempt Salary Schedule, Level 7 (starting at $79,198)

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred.

- A demonstrated track record (minimum 3-5 years) of success in leading highly complex, full life-cycle projects and programs from planning through implementation including day-to-day project management and successful change management.

- Capacity to solve complex problems, to manage multiple priorities, and coordinate project management efforts utilizing a cross-functional team approach and engage multiple stakeholders in working toward a common goal.

- Strong analytical and research skills including the ability to research a topic and present findings and recommendations in a well-articulated presentation to an executive audience (includes written and PowerPoint formats).

- Background in and proven ability to monitor the implementation of projects and programs across multiple sites fostering continuous improvement.

- PMP, CSM, CCSSBB, or other project management certification preferred.

- Able to quickly establish credibility among team members, including peers and executive leadership.

- Ability to strategically plan and implement comprehensive initiatives with a record of success.

- Knowledgeable about local, state and federal policies that impact the educational and related sectors referred.

- Experience working in urban school system preferred.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provide organizational management for initiatives related to the District?s strategic plans, focused on the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of such initiatives.

2. Monitor the status of the various work streams in order to ensure overall alignment as well as to anticipate issues that may require adjustments to the plan(s) or to the implementation timeline(s).

3. Outline specific tasks involved in the plan and delegate accordingly.

4. Conduct risk assessments and report identified risks to Chief of Staff; provides recommendations to mitigate risks

5. Collaborate with external consultants and partners, soliciting community input and partnership for initiative requirements, design, implementation, and training.

6. Collaborate with communications, public relations, and marketing teams to provide information required to promote new projects, programs, and systems.

7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, contractual, and District regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

8. Support the Chief of Staff in conducting community input sessions to gather input and inform families and residents about processes.

9. Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

This position is primarily sedentary in nature, though in a fast-paced office. Employee will be required to operate a computer and have the ability to complete paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and is not subject to Occupational Health and Safety risks.
