Job Summary: The bilingual teacher collaborates with the general classroom teacher, using the co-teaching model, to provide support for students in the core academic subject areas. The bilingual teacher is responsible for working with the general classroom teacher to plan and co-teach engaging lessons that are aligned with the curriculum, and modified to meet the needs and abilities of the students. The bilingual teacher monitors student progress using a variety of assessments, and communicates regularly with parents, staff, and administrators. The bilingual teacher collaborates with the general classroom teacher to develop and implement modifications and intervention strategies, thus ensuring that the student is successful and their educational needs are met in all school settings

Qualifications:

• Current and valid PEL with a middle school education endorsement;
• In addition, the candidate must also possess a Bilingual Education Teacher Spanish endorsement (BSPA), or have passed the Spanish Target Language Proficiency exam and is applying for the ELS-TBE endorsement;
• Candidate must be able to work with the general classroom teacher to plan for instruction and student support using the co-teaching model;
• Ability to assess the learning of students and modify or enhance instruction as needed;
• Ability to analyze various forms of data and use the information to make instructional decisions;
• Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using standards-based teaching methods to address student learning styles;
• Individual must be able to incorporate technology as a means of enhancing their instruction;
• Able to work with a diverse student population and establish open and regular communication with parents and guardians;
• Strong classroom management skills and knowledge of the PBIS program;
• Candidate must be able to listen, speak, read and write Spanish fluently.

Salary and Benefits:
