Job Summary: The Transportation Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates and oversees all functions pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the transportation department. This includes personnel, equipment, and facilities. The prime concern is safe, efficient, economical transportation of students between home and school on a regular schedule, and between other destinations within or outside the division boundaries on a special scheduling basis.

Desired Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED;
• Associates Degree preferred;
• It is also preferred that candidate has met the school bus driver certification requirements;
• Four years of experience in transportation, including two years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a school district;
• Skilled in Word Processing and Data Base software/systems;
• Able to rapidly learn and use a computerized student transportation system;
• Able to work independently and in a team environment;
• Ability to handle delegated and administrative details, to receive and dispose of complaints, requests for information and other matters brought to the transportation department;
• Must have the capacity to carry out instructions and develop comprehensive plans with a minimum of supervision;
• Must have the ability to meet the public with a pleasant, composed, and cordial manner, and to speak clearly and effectively;
• Spanish speaking desirable.

Work Year: 12 months - July 1 through June 30.

Typical Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Salary:

• Starting salary of $42,250;
• Salary is commensurate with experience;
