Job Description
The ASP Site Assistant Director will oversee the after school program if the ASP Site Director is not available. Specific responsibilities include routine general administrative duties, staff supervision, and compliance with licensing requirements of the Vermont Child Development Division of the Agency of Human Services and Department for Children and Families. An average shift is 3 hours, Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties
-Understand the role of the ASP Director responsibilities to assist when the ASP Director is unavailable. Such as:
-Required state and federal paperwork for meals/snacks
-Associated attendance and billing paperwork
-Communication with parents and guardians
-Lesson planning/implementation
-Emergency planning
-Check bus notes, parent pick-ups, absences daily and document
-Assist in managing the daily sign-in/sign-out sheets and master attendance list
-Assist with educational and behavioral needs of all ASP students
-Ensure that staffing always reflects the state approved ratio and supports the safety of all students and staff members present
-Maintain Credential Requirements per the Child Care Manual published by the State of Vermont (post hire)
-Fulfill all essential duties of an ASP staff member
-Additional duties as assigned to ensure a high quality safe environment in accordance with school/SU procedures, STARS, and the Child Care Licensing Regulations for Afterschool Programs (VT)

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: 18 years old Current First Aid/CPR Child and Adult. (May obtain after hire) Preferences: 3 Years of experience Prior experience working with the Vermont Agency of Human Services Department for Children and Families regulations with respect to operating after school programs.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required

    The Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union (BRSU) is a public school system located in southwestern Vermont. The BRSU includes school districts in four Vermont counties and three Vermont technical center regions. The BRSU is the second largest Vermont supervisory union with a total area of approximately 460 square miles. In 2018, BRSU districts have a total combined enrollment of 2,200 students.

    A unique feature of the BRSU is that none of its districts operates a high school. All BRSU districts have high school choice. BRSU districts send students to over 30 public and independent high schools with a large number of BRSU students choosing to attend Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, VT.
