JOB SUMMARY : There are two three-week sessions. The first session will take place at IST from June 5th - June 23th (closed June 19th). The second session will take place at Cherokee Trail High School from June 26th - July 14th (Closed July 4th). Students will attend class from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. with a ten-minute break. The teacher will perform effective teaching methods to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program, which fosters achievement for all students. The teacher develops and promotes good community relations among community and school clientele.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strong knowledge of the content area, teaching methods, learning styles, and educational research related to secondary learners.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the scope and the sequence of a subject area curriculum.
  • Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and planning skills.
  • Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Utilize PowerSchool at the high school level for online attendance, online grade book, online posting of assignments, and parental access to attendance and grades.
  • Attend a required introductory meeting before each session. Time and date TBA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold a valid Colorado teaching license with an endorsement in the subject.
  • Proficiency in using technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Has experience working with a variety of teaching and learning styles to accommodate a diverse student population with abroad range of abilities.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
