General Information

Applications are now being accepted from qualified staff for the position of Licensed Site Administrator in the Department of Alternative Education (DAE) Summer Learning Programs (SLPs). Reporting Relationship

Report to the Department of Alternative Education (DAE) Assistant Director.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Minnesota K-12 Professional Administrator License
  • Currently assigned as SPPS Employee

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional characteristics of identified students.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of instructional techniques.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership abilities, encouraging summer staff to help all students succeed during Summer Session.
  • Thorough knowledge of all SPPS policies, procedures, and systems.
  • S ummer Learning Programs Site Administrator or S ite L eader experience may be considered.

  • Create the CAMPUS Summer Session master schedules and attend scheduled work sessions as needed.
  • Organize and lead staff meetings during Summer Session.
  • Guide the implementation of DAE standards based Summer Session curriculum.
  • Monitor and ensure that all classroom teachers are implementing DAE district provided curriculum.
  • Monitor daily attendance, assure CLP compliance, and data entry.
  • Manage disciplinary problems encountered with students by following the District's Disciplinary Policies and Reporting requirements.
  • Handle staff or student emergencies by following the District Emergency Communications Center and DAE Procedures.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the DAE Assistant Director or DAE staff.
  • Licensed Site Administrator placement will be based on program need.
  • Administrator appointment will be for one Summer S ession. ( A ssignments may be extended based on specific program needs.)
  • Licensed Site Administrator must work and be on site during the entire appointed Summer Session.
  • Employment offer is for the current Summer S ession(s) only.
  • Employment during Summer Learning Programs is not an extension of the school year contract.

Compensation and Hours

The following conditions apply to this position:
  • Compensation for Licensed Site Administrator is $70.00 per hour.
  • Licensed Site Administrator will work 8.0 hours per day.
    • All Summer session classes will run daily, for 6.0 hours. In addition to working 6.0 hours of student contact time, the Licensed Site Administrator will work for 2.0 additional hours daily to prepare and manage programming.
  • Licensed Site Administrator work schedule:
    • Visit for program details.
    • No programming on Monday, July 3 AND Tuesday, July 4.
  • Licensed Site Administrator compensation:
    • Paid for Pre and Post session work up to 32 additional hours prior to the start of the session, including set-up day. A log of dates, times, and duties must be submitted with the final timesheet.
  • Summer Learning Programs employees are paid bi-weekly.

Inclement Weather or Other Cancellations

Summer Learning Programs staff are paid only for hours worked on days the program is in session.

Other Information

Criminal Background Investigation - Criminal Background investigation will be completed as a condition of hire for all new employees and for former employees who have not been employed by the District for more than six months.
