Job Description:
Assists with the maintenance of health records, referrals, and reports. Administers routine first aid and assists in screening ill and injured students in accordance with state laws and district procedures. Works under the direction of a licensed staff member. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
Job Qualifications:
1. High School diploma
2. CPR and First Aid certification
3. Able to work under the direction of the school nurse
4. Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups with students and visitors to the health room.
5. General computer knowledge, data entry, and clerical skills
6. Knowledge of general office equipment
7. Accuracy with mathematical calculations
8. Possess skills specific to the work typically performed in a clinic setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
7. Maintains orderly work environment as required.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Working Conditions:
Moderate to heavy physical effort, including occasional running, bending, squatting, pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing as well as lifting boxes and/or injured persons of variable weight.
Prolonged standing and sitting.
Concentrated computer work.
Working alone and working with others.
Normal school district environment.
Flexibility with interruptions to work flow.

- Provides first aid and emergency care of students, and assists in screening ill and injured students in the health office. Works under the direction of the professional nurse.
- Performs nursing tasks as delegated by the nurse, including medication administration and nursing procedures.
- Helps maintain student immunization files and assists with implementation of immunization law.
- Updates and records information in Infinite Campus on each student as directed by the professional nurse.
- Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA.
7. Maintains orderly work environment as required.
