EC Teacher Assistant Job Coach Satellite Program
FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
This position provides specialized job coaching and transition services for students with disabilities enrolled in the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) in high school. Coaching and transition services include assisting students in developing work readiness, occupational skills, transition skills, and monitoring the provision of school-based and community-based vocational skills.

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
This position provides specialized job coaching and transition services for students with disabilities enrolled in the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) in high school. Coaching and transition services include assisting students in developing work readiness, occupational skills, transition skills, and monitoring the provision of school-based and community-based vocational skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trains, monitors and job coaches students in both school-based and community based training.
- Demonstrates responsible work behaviors (punctuality, courtesy, safety).
- Assists in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for Occupational Preparation Assistants.
- Assists with pre-training needs (uniforms, TB shots, fingerprints, ID background checks).
- Completes daily documentation of student performance in compliance with Department of Labor guidelines.
- Assists with job shadowing experiences and internship for work readiness.
- Develops task analysis of jobs and develops training procedures.
- Manages the scheduling of students for sites, times, days, and transportation.
- Maintains current business sites.
- Creates and maintains student training folders.
- Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training progress.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of task analysis on various jobs or ability to acquire knowledge.
- Knowledge of policies, labor laws, requirements for OCS, or ability to acquire knowledge.
- Ability to model, demonstrate and teach responsible work behaviors (punctuality, courtesy, safety).
- Ability to use appropriate and effective communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and be results oriented.
- Ability to be effective and comfortable working with various special needs.
- Demonstrated skill in administrative support.
- Minimum: 48 semester-credit hours of post-secondary/college work
- Desirable: Associates Degree in Special Education or another related field
- Possess, a valid Class B commercial driver's license and a valid school bus driver certification issued by the NCDMV Preferred.
- Commercial driver license (CDL) holders and applicants must meet the medical qualifications set by the NC General Statute Medical Qualifications Standards Applicable to Commercial Drivers.
- First aid certification Preferred.
