    The Cincinnati Public Schools invites applications for the position of Director of Marketing.
    The Director of Marketing works in collaboration with the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer to lead marketing and external communications for Cincinnati Public Schools. This includes proactively providing strategic counsel, direction, and guidance in developing and executing marketing and communications plans.

    ABOUT CPS:

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 10-15 years of marketing, advertising, PR or related experience.
    • Five years of experience directly overseeing a complex, multi-faceted marketing and digital, branding, creative or design organization within an educational setting, a company, or an agency.

    COMPETENCIES

    OWNERSHIP
    • Manage and coordinate the creative development process, including working with a talented internal team and outside partners, as needed and within budget, for departments across the District.
    • Integrate, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic marketing and advertising plans, including visual storytelling utilizing video and photography.
    • Brainstorm and develop meaningful marketing materials to promote the District and support enrollment and retention.

    CUSTOMER FOCUS
    • In collaboration with the marketing and communications team, others in the communications and customer service departments, and with District leadership, maintain and further develop a successful integrated marketing and PR strategy that will help to advance the District's local, regional, and national reputation and public identity.
    • Support and enhance engagement with external stakeholders utilizing best in class marketing, PR, and outreach tools and techniques.

    • Demonstrated skill in managing and motivating creative professionals, including effective team-building, and building a positive and enthusiastic work environment.
    • A comprehensive skill set across a variety of marketing, PR, and creative disciplines.
    • A strong eye for compelling design that is energizing, inspiring and motivates action.

    COLLABORATION ACROSS BOUNDARIES
    • Work closely with staff to oversee data utilization for purposes of research, targeted outreach, and outcome measurement.
    • Ability to eloquently convey the District's branding vision and priorities to administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside constituencies.

    CLEAR AND CANDID COMMUNICATION
    • Superior oral and written presentation skills, including the ability to write and edit persuasive and compelling narrative for many different audiences.
    • Experience with executive speechwriting.
    • A collaborative orientation, eager and able to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders, and ability to build strong professional relationships.

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
    • Proven track record of leading marketing programs/campaigns from initial brief to implementation and evaluation.
    • Ability to write compelling narrative, including speechwriting.
    • Outstanding management and planning skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage around deadlines.

    PLANNING AND EXECUTING
    • Superior understanding of multi-channel marketing and advertising principles, including measurement and analytics, and a track record of fostering creativity across multiple mediums including media, direct mail, and digital.
    • Strong personal integrity and work ethic, as well as a sense of humor and perspective.
    • Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.
    • Solid understanding of emerging media in marketing and strategic communications and ability to convey information and content in ways that engage and excite constituents including prospective students and their families, and the community.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Experience in brand management and stewardship with knowledge of developing and maintaining identity standards.
    • Experience with media planning and advertising placement.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with storyboarding, case studies and white papers.
    • Experience managing a variety of third-party agencies, including agency pitch, selection, appointment, day-to-day and strategic management.
    • Knowledge of utilizing emerging and social media to engage constituents.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to oversee the video production process.
    • Ability to manage and track spending and budget efficiently.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Proactive, strategic, and results-driven.

    Type Contract: Limited 260 days
    SALARY RANGE: Director - Per CAAS Agreement
