POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hourly School Communication liaison designs creative elements for visual communication initiatives, based on the direction of the principial, including print, videos, photos, website, and social media. The liaison supports all visual communication needs for the school and will regularly meet with school leadership and staff to fully capture the culture and spirit of the school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Captures major events at the school through photography or video
  • Develop and maintain school's Website and social media sites, such as Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Create and organize print media that can be used to inform parents and community members about the school
  • Establishes and develops a school based newsletter for parents, partners and community members based on the direction of the principal.
  • Provides progress reports on project as required
  • Participate in meetings and school functions (Open House, Community Meetings, CREW Builders, Spring Musical, etc.) and other functions as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator


Requirements :

EDUCATION: Associate Degree or higher in instructional technology, marketing, visual communications, multimedia, design, or related field required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation, or the availability to get to off-site meetings

WORK EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years work experience as a graphic designer, working for both print and online channels required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Strong communication and writing skills, and editorial judgment
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design)
  • Working knowledge of Java script preferred
  • Knowledge of HTML, Word Press, and social media platforms
  • Must understand the requirements and distinctions of print / web / broadcast design
  • Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, respond effectively to unexpected challenges, and work both independently and collaboratively with team members and staff
  • Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and motion graphics a plus
  • Must submit online or PDF portfolio to be considered


Compensation :

Salary: $32.00 Hourly

Work Year: Up to 29 hours per week

FLSA Status : Exempt
