The Senior Manager of Academic Data and Analytics, under the direction of the Director of Academic Data and Analytics, is responsible for the design and implementation of Ascend Public Charter Schools' academic data strategies.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Academic Outcomes Team (AOT) the Senior Manager of Academic Data and Analytics is integral to the team mission of championing a data-driven culture at Ascend. This team works to ensure data is an accurate reflection of current student and teacher performance and that it is used to drive decision making across K-12 instruction.

The Senior Manager of Academic Data and Analytics will work under the direction of the Director of Academic Data and Analytics to support the highest quality of data-driven instruction in order to increase academic achievement for students. They will be responsible for the academic data analyses of formative and summative assessments. This includes identifying and sharing both school-level and network wide-trends that support informed, strategic organizational decision making. They will be strategically focused on vertically aligned data systems that can be implemented across 16+ schools.

The Senior Manager of Academic Data and Analytics trains and supports staff on student and academic data software systems and testing administration to ensure that assessments are administered appropriately and data is captured accurately. They will also support school leaders and school-based staff in recording official grades for Progress Reports and Report Cards. The Senior Manager of Academic Data and Analytics will ensure that all schools in the network tap the full potential of the Infinite Campus student information system, Illuminate academic data system, and Tableau by working on the setting up of the new systems, training staff, and instituting protocols to ensure system-wide consistency.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of combined relevant work experience in data management, ideally within an academic environment

A successful applicant will have the following traits:
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets;
  • Quick learner with excellent data analysis, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to independently and successfully manage projects;
  • Incredibly high bar and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • Passion for education reform and school choice;
  • Actively contributes to DEIA.

Compensation

Initial salary offers for this position range from $85,000 - $95,000. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience and levels of attained education.
