POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Nutrition Operations provides visionary leadership, manages, and directs operations related to the nutrition program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Business Administration, or a related field required
• Master's degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
• Must have or be able to obtain a Georgia Certification in the area of School Nutrition
• Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation , or the ability to attend off-silt meetings
• Registered Licensed Dietitian preferred
• ServSafe certification preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Seven (7) years in food service operations required
• Three (3) years in management required
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in supervising a multi-unit institution
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience creating and providing food or nutrition training
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local government requirements
• Knowledge of Child Nutrition Services programs
• Knowledge of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Georgia Department of Agriculture requirements for Child Nutrition
• Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program, and Community Eligibility Program requirements
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to implement policy and procedures
• Knowledge of computer applications, software, spreadsheets, and point-of-sale systems
• Leadership skills
• Strategic thinking skills
• Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills, and interpret data
• Ability to build collaborative relationships

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local policies and reporting guidelines for the Child Nutrition Department
• Monitors the district's child nutrition program, following the USDA guidelines for the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Programs
• Plans, organizes, directs, and administers the school food service and nutrition information program for the district
• Maintains administrative program planning and resources allocation of campus staff
• Interfaces with campus administration to facilitate resolution of concerns (i.e., employee performance, staffing, equipment issues, etc.)
• Directs supervision of assigned staff
• Monitors and maintains the assigned budget
• Assists in staff development and training coordination
• Ensures that the goals and objectives of the Child Nutrition Services complement the district's vision
• Coordinates new initiatives and projects
• Represents the supervisor at District and campus meetings, as appropriate
• Prepares memos, reports and presentations as needed
• Supervises substitute finder tool and sub-pool of food assistants
• Assists and provides guidance with employee application processing, interviewing, recommending substitutes, and new employee orientation to include Manager interns
• Attends District board meetings as needed
• Oversees departmental equipment needs to include replacement, repairs, and new construction
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours, and as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
