PRIMARY FUNCTION: Position maintains a close working relationship with charter schools for the monitoring and oversight of charter contracts. Position will also conduct onsite evaluations, document reviews, analyze data, write reports, and present outcomes.

SALARY SCHEDULE: A-4
WORK DAYS: 250

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or Education
  1. Experience, Skill, and Certification:
  • Three years' experience in public policy, compliance monitoring, auditing, or evaluating programs
  • Ability to analyze student performance and financial data
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; the ability to write comprehensive reports, conduct presentations, and facilitate meetings
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize activities
  • Must have the flexibility to attend evening meetings and events to meet business needs
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Serves as primary contact for charter schools and charter petitioners regarding district support, services, and processes.
  2. Represents the district as the charter school liaison with the State Department of Education and local charter schools.
  3. Provides leadership and coordinates the review and interpretation of Georgia's charter school laws, school board rules, and local charter polices.
  4. Handles charter petitioner's application, schedules meetings, and establishes timelines for reviews, revisions, and final recommendation to the administration.

  6. Conducts statistical analysis of collected information and prepares detailed reports.
  7. Coordinates and conducts the collection of evidence required to meet the yearly charter reporting requirements of the district (charter authorizer).
  8. Researches, reviews, and meets with district divisions and charter schools for updating the Charter School Comprehensive Reference Guide (CSCRG) on a yearly basis.
  9. Conducts presentations to senior leadership on the status of charter schools.
  10. Maintains charter documents and information on district website.
  11. Maintains effective communication with charter school leadership and charter governing boards. Attends charter school board meetings as necessary.
  12. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work calendar will be 250 days. This is a .50 FTE position that requires a flexible schedule. Grade A4-Part-time, exempt. Revised 01-19
