The After-School Director manages the childcare program that operates outside school hours for Grade
K-12 students. The director works closely with the school principal to provide an enriching and
educationally sound experience for those attending. The director will develop the program's structure
based on the needs and interests of the students and their parents, manage the program staff and
operations, and oversee communication regarding program administration. The superintendent or
designee Principal(s) direct the position.

Additional Job Information : Responsibilities
* Organize, manage, evaluate, and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and
functioning of the After-School Program
* This person will serve as a liaison between the program and building staff, and the
administration
* The director will develop the structure of the program based on the needs and interests of the
students and their parents, manage the program staff and operations, and oversee
communication regarding program administration
* Develop staff to build high performing team focused on quality and service
* Build relationships with appropriate school personnel regularly
* Evaluate the needs of the program and staff and implements new ideas based on those needs
* Collaborates with District personnel and peers to improve student achievement through the
implementation of programs and strategies to accomplish school and district mission and vision
goals
* Support the culturally, racially, linguistically, and economically diverse population we serve
* Order, organize and manage program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document
attendance, incidents, and other observation
* Develops budgets; monitors spending to achieve program objectives efficiently
* Communicates effectively with staff, students, parents, School Board, and community about the
21st Century After-School Program
* 3 hrs. per day/ 4 days a week
* No benefits are provided

Qualifications : * Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
* Ability to work well in a team environment
* Drive to inspire learning and the ability to engage students and families in learning activities
* Functional knowledge of technology
* Washington State Patrol background check required
