Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), the nation’s 11th largest school division, located in the Washington D.C. region, is seeking a dynamic new principal for Lake Braddock Secondary School.

With a vision of preparing students to be “Connected, Adaptable, Resilient, and Engaged Learners”, Lake Braddock is one of three secondary schools in FCPS that combines middle and high school. It is the largest school in the State of Virginia, with over 400 dedicated staff members serving more than 4,300 students. Lake Braddock also prioritizes the understanding of self and community with a focus on responsibility, service, empathy, social-emotional learning, equity, and inclusion.

The student population at Lake Braddock is a diverse mix of nationalities and the school serves the educational needs of a broad spectrum of students, including those with learning disabilities, second language learners, and twice exceptional students. It offers a variety of challenging and specialized academic programs that enrich the standard FCPS curriculum offerings.

The Middle School has a Level IV Advanced Academic Center, and the High School has an open enrollment policy to encourage students to participate in Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment courses. Lake Braddock also provides extensive and varied electives programs, offering opportunities to explore the fine and practical arts, business, and technology disciplines. Lake Braddock’s Performing Arts courses are consistently ranked among the top performing groups in Virginia.

The principal directs and is accountable for the planning, assessment, instructional leadership, human resources, communication, community relations, finance and safety and administrative management required to manage the instructional and special programs, organization, and facilities of Lake Braddock Secondary School.

Qualifications: Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in administration and supervision preK-12, plus seven years of progressively more responsible experience in teaching and administration or supervision, with a minimum of three years administrative experience.
