The Lawrenceville School invites nominations and applications for the inaugural position of Dean of Campus Wellbeing.

The Dean of Campus Wellbeing, a newly created position that represents a significant investment in improving campus culture, will be responsible for bringing a public health mindset and a systems approach to Lawrenceville’s efforts to ensure the health, wellbeing, and safety of its students. With a creative, entrepreneurial mindset and a deep understanding of how to promote healthy communities, especially in terms of adolescent mental and behavioral health, the Dean will take a proactive, school-wide approach to reinforcing a positive campus culture.

The Dean will work to reduce the negative impact of a broad range of societal public health concerns that put adolescents at risk and impact their mental health, including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, social media culture, bullying, peer-to-peer sexual assault, and alcohol and drug use. The Dean will champion a more open and inclusive approach to mental health, helping to foster lifelong habits of wellness among all Lawrenceville community members. As a member of Senior Staff and a direct report to the Assistant Head of School for Strategic Implementation, the Dean of Campus Wellbeing is recognized as a visible and engaged campus leader who partners with school leadership, faculty, and outside partners to promote student wellbeing.

Founded in 1810, The Lawrenceville School, one of the country’s premier independent schools, is located in central New Jersey, five miles south of Princeton, 55 miles south of New York City, and 40 miles north of Philadelphia. Lawrenceville attracts outstanding students in grades 9-12, plus postgraduate students. The School’s 815 students hail from 36 states and 40 countries, with 70 percent boarding and 30 percent day students. Thirty-two percent of students receive $14.9 million in scholarship aid grants, and 53 percent are students of color. Lawrenceville has 375 full-time employees, including 109 full-time teaching faculty.
