Job Description
The Associate Manager Operations - NJ & MA directly supports and reports to one Managing Director of Operations (MDO). The MDO is responsible for ensuring high-quality school operations and effective regional oversight in the regions that they lead. The AMO will take on key operational and communications responsibilities that support the MDO in developing school leaders and ensuring outstanding school operations and student achievement within their regions. They will work closely with their MDO, Regional Superintendents of Operations (RSOs, formerly Associate Chief Operating Officers, or ACOOs) who are managed by the MDO, and the entire Operations team to ensure that the MDO is driving towards key operational outcomes.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive significant regional projects and processes to support school operations and regional leadership for the MDO:
    • Staff and leader retreats
    • Culture initiatives
    • Mid-year evaluation processes (if specific to the region)
    • Support ACOO-led DOO meetings
    • Salary and compensation protocols
    • Key initiatives - ie, NSA charter revision; Camden new leader onboarding
  • Develop and manage key regional leader processes and meetings meetings (OSOM, WoF, BLT, BOLT):
    • Propose meeting topics and format for MDO review
    • Preparing agendas, materials, and logistics for all meetings
    • Liaise with senior leaders across Uncommon to ensure meetings are efficient and effective
    • Track and holding others accountable to core decisions and action steps
    • Note-taking and driving all meeting follow-up
    • Manage regional ACOO and ACOO-ASUP annual plan
  • Lead communications with key partners and leaders by writing and editing email correspondence and other written materials on behalf of the MDO.
  • Ensure the MDO's time is maximized by expertly handling their calendar through prioritization of appointments, efficient booking of travel, and arranging in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Track, prioritize, and hold the MDO and their school leaders accountable for tasks and project landmarks to ensure progress to strategic goals.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including preparing and handling expense reimbursements, as needed.
  • Additional special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years work experience
Travel
  • Role may occasionally require national travel to Boston.

Compensation for this position:The starting compensation for this role based in Newark, NJ and is between $82,500 to $97,000 and generally, we expect that qualified candidates in this location will be made an offer between $82,500 and $87,300. The starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. Because we value staff staying in their roles over time, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
