SUMMARY:
Completes the detail and written work and coordinates other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Superintendents office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As per contract and board policies and regulations.
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
Completes the detail and written work and coordinates other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Superintendents office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares written communications relating to general and specialized work of the Department.
- Produces materials on machines and prepares materials in booklets, leaflets, or
other forms for distribution. - Answers telephone in a respectful manner in response to public inquires.
- Establishes and maintains cross-reference files in a manner of easy accessibility.
- Handles minor administrative duties and office matters as needed.
- Has a general background of all school administrative secretarial matters, is able
to fill in on temporary basis for any other secretary and help other departments when needed. - Operates, computers, copiers, and facsimile machines.
- Maintains a regular filing system
- Input data in school routing software to create and modify bus routes.
- Maintain appropriate student records for drivers.
- Maintain bus and car ridership logs for yearly reports.
- Effective communicator with inquiries and complaints when working with and dealing with the community.
- Maintain close and cooperative communication and working relationships with special education personnel at all schools as well as parents.
- Process all referrals and triennial evaluations and notify special education and support staff of components needed for evaluations.
- Collect information for the hearing officer and schedule meetings for disciplinary hearings.
- Input data in PowerSchool and VA IEP Online.
- Maintain and update the LCPS policy manual to ensure it is in compliance with VSBA and board expectations.
- Process requests for Out of County students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Thorough kno wle dge of business English , spelling, and technology to include the
most recent upgrade to Windows and other software programs. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others .
- Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction.
- Ability to meet the public effectively.
