POSITION SUMMARY:

The Superintendent provides instructional and organizational leadership to school leaders, students, staff and community stakeholders served by the Wishkah Valley School District. The candidate in this position reviews administrative staff and school structures and systems to ensure that the educational needs of students are efficiently articulated and maximized. The employee in this assignment is a strong organizational leader with high ethical standards who focuses on developing extraordinary school leaders and programs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon needs, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:
  • Develop efficient school operating models that combine best practices with administrative goals.
  • Oversee development and implementation of school improvement plans; regularly review and track progress on school performance objectives and academic excellence indicators to assure effective deployment of improvement strategies; direct implementation of revised or new strategies as required.
  • Develop, recommend, approve and implement school-based budgets; manage budget allocations to ensure equitable use of resources amongst assigned staff and schools.
  • Supervise the performance of assigned personnel; recommend transfers, reassignment, termination, and disciplinary actions.
  • Represent the district and assigned schools in meetings, workshops, conferences, and professional activities including school board meetings.
  • Work and collaborate with other school leaders to develop measurable goals for student growth. Review baseline and progression data to identify and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Promote a positive, safe and caring climate for learning; deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain consistent presence and regular work hours at assigned worksite.
  • Maintain professional, respectful interactions with students, staff and public.
  • Comply with all district policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Washington State Administrators Certificate.
  • 3 years of experience as a school based administrator.
  • Must be a team player with excellent management and communication skills.
  • Must be willing to share professional skills with other staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • WA State Patrol and FBI fingerprinting clearance
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act
