The Hourly Intern for the Office of the Superintendent will support special projects assigned by assigned by the Special Assistant to the Superintendent and ensures that all projects are managed based on best practices and standards of Atlanta Public Schools (APS). The Intern is responsible for organizing, planning, and directing all project work activities and shares responsibility and accountability with the executive leadership team for the successful delivery of the project. The intern will develop great working relationships with various stakeholders, to communicate status, manage the expectations, deliverables, and results of all project resources.

- Coordinates all related activities associated with the management of multiple projects, including project planning, programming design, and implementation.
- Organizes, prepares, and maintains project management documentation.
- Ensures appropriate updating and availability to accurate project documentation on APS SharePoint site.
- Prepares executive status reports and presentations for Senior Leadership as required/directed.
- Monitors progress of project(s) by reviewing design documents, work- in-progress, and recommends adjustments to project plan(s), as needed.
- Communicates project status, changes, needs, etc. in a timely and effective manner to appropriate audiences.
- Prepares reports, design scenarios, presentations utilizing project portfolio management tools and other communication essentials such as brochures, procedures, technology support and others as assigned.
- Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.
- Ensures effective engagement of the project Executive Sponsor (s), Business Owners and project Team members in applicable project work and decision-making.
- Facilitates and/or conducts periodic progress meetings and serves as the liaison to consultants in the community.
- Ensures timely completion of all project deliverables including close-out documentation and ensures proper distribution and provide timely reviews and approvals, as required.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.

- Excellent written and oral communication

- Ability to use Microsoft Office, project management applications, and other system software programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with students, parents, administrators and staff
