  • QCUSD will accept applications for Substitute Instructional Assistants on an ongoing basis.

    JOB GOAL: Provide instruction to students based on lesson plans in the absence of classroom teacher. Applicant should be able to improvise as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    2. AZ State IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
    3. Three references (please add email addresses for each reference in your application)

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: As needed
    REPORTS TO: Principal, Classroom Teacher, and District Substitute Specialist
    COMPENSATION: $112 per full day / $56 per half day

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    1. Work with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher or reinforcing individual IEP goals.
    2. Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher.
    3. Check class work, grade papers and supervise testing as assigned by the teacher.
    4. Alert the classroom teacher to any problems.
    5. Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
    6. Assist students with lunch, snack, recess and cleanup routines.
    7. Assist students with wash-up and toilet routines, including changing diapers.
    8. Operate and care for equipment and assistive technology used in the classroom.
    9. Assist with student supervision in all school settings.
    10. Refer all parent questions/concerns directly and immediately to classroom teacher.
    11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designee.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
