New Market Skills Center and the Tumwater School District are accepting applications for a high school Special Education Learning Assistant for its 2023 summer session. We are interested in staff who are committed to students and to a continuing program of personal and professional growth.

It is the Mission of New Market Skills Center to provide a positive, industry supported and aligned learning environment where students are encouraged and expected to achieve their highest potential through rigorous career, technical and academic preparation programs.

Professional Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent and ESEA certification
2. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form
3. Honest and strong work ethic
4. First Aid/CPR Certification
5. Experience with high school students, SPED, and skills centers preferred
6. Previous skills center exoerience preferred

Typical Responsibilities :

1. Assist students when taking tests, assignments, and activities
2. Communicate with parents regarding student progress as needed
3. Assist New Market Instructors in implementing SAS
4. Keep data and files on students' progress
5. Interact professionally with staff, students & community
6. Organize, manage and appropriately maintain instructional facility, equipment and resources

Contract:

2023 Summer hourly pay 421.50 - $26.52 depending on experience

Contract Days: 18 Days, June 22 - July 19 (no school July 3 & 4)

Contract Hours: June 22 & 23 - To be determined

Contract Hours: June 26 - July 19, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (July 22 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM)
