WBCS is seeking a Middle School ELA Content Support Teacher with the ability to serve as the second teacher within core content blocks of times. Applicants must have extensive coursework in English or background in literacy, and must be willing to participate in the differentiation of core content, facilitate small group instruction, and also serve as an interventionist for students identified as being at-risk academically. Applicants do not require an educational background or teaching certifications.

Support Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching core content to small groups;
  • Assists the teacher during instructional time to facilitate student opportunity to learn;
  • Attending weekly collaboration meetings with core content teachers;
  • Assists in the monitoring of student progress;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities;
  • Fulfills non-instructional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree
  • Evidence of strong communication, problem solving, and human relations skills
  • Evidence of the ability to effectively work with students, parents, colleagues and administrators from a diverse community
  • Technology Literacy in any areas as listed below a plus
RELATED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in related content area(s) preferred
  • NYS Teaching Certification in any area(s) as listed preferred
  • Experience in classroom teaching preferred
