LUNCHROOM/PLAYGROUND ACTIVITY SUPERVISOR

Essex Westford School District is seeking a lunchroom/recess monitor at Essex Elementary School. The ideal candidate must either have or be interested in receiving training in Responsive Classroom student management techniques.

The expected schedule is 11:00 am-1:30 pm during school days' lunch/recess period.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Monitor and supervise students at lunch and playtime.
  
• Enforce playground and lunchroom rules, and behavior expectations.
  
• Assist children with opening food in the lunchroom and encourage them to eat their lunch.
  
• Resolve student behavior conflicts using de-escalation strategies.
  
• Assume responsibility for play equipment.
  
• Take part in in-service training programs, as appropriate.
  
• Respond to student injuries.

Essex Elementary School is a prekindergarten through grade 2 facility housing approximately 400 students. It is located on Bixby Hill Road in Essex.
