Insight PA School Psychologists regularly collaborate on projects and solutions, with mentoring and ongoing support provided by the Lead School Psychologist. Minimal travel is required for direct student observations or evaluations in this position. Qualified professionals who maintain professional development and regularly deliver current best practices in the field are encouraged to apply. Early career professionals may matriculate through Insight PA's induction program to obtain Level II professional certification.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Provide data-informed recommendations as a result of initial student evaluations or re-evaluations
  • Review, interpret, and design evaluation reports as testing/educational data is provided by contracted evaluators
  • Develop individualized consent forms and other essential documentation for parents and legal guardians to be fully informed of proposed actions related to student eligibility
  • Collaborate with personnel through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) process to promote research-based interventions during the pre-referral phase
  • Assist in the development and implementation of web-based school-wide positive behavior interventions & supports (SWPBIS)
  • Utilize clear communication when discussing evaluation findings with student support and/or IEP teams
  • Partner with Special Education Compliance & Instructional Coordinators regarding student onboarding escalations and/or family consultations as needed
  • Serve as consultant for special education teachers, parents/guardians, administrators, & local agencies
  • Collaborate with the School Psychologist team, and various other educational professionals on department and systems-level initiatives
  • Collaborate in pre-referral, referral, and post-referral procedures with educational professionals

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or Educational Psychology, AND
  • Education Specialist (advanced graduate certification) equivalency
  • Active State (Level I) or National certification in School Psychology
  • Must pass all PDE required clearances for school-based employees

Minimum Required Skill Set
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or closely related field
  • Active PDE Instructional I Certification in School Psychology

  • Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check
  • Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) - Dept of Education ONLY
  • Clearance with Act 168 Employment History Review
  • Letter(s) of recommendation & or sample redacted report(s) upon request

  • Comprehensive & up-to-date knowledge of various types of norm-referenced assessments
  • Knowledge of MTSS practices and procedures
  • Diverse repertoire of intervention strategies to consult with instructional & support staff

  • Highly developed team-based coordination & problem-solving skills
  • Specific expertise in IDEA eligibility factors, PDE compliance regulations, and procedural safeguards
  • Highly developed knowledge of eligibility factors for analyzing and generating re/evaluation reports
  • Ability to travel for occasional required all-staff events (professional development, state testing, etc.)
  • Outstanding professionalism in interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in establishing and/or modifying priorities as student and/or department needs arise

  • Proficiency in computer-based web applications, databases, spreadsheet reports, virtual collaboration software, and other multi-media solutions
  • Comprehensive instructional knowledge and relevant work experience in a special education setting
  • Extensive knowledge of Chapter 711 PA regulations for special education
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices in school psychology
  • Skilled in collaboration with various educational teams (e.g., MTSS, interagency)
  • Strong proficiency in web-based instructional programs and/or progress monitoring tools
  • Ability to produce letter(s) of recommendation upon request
