Assist Career and Technical Education (CTE) Administrators and the department of Career and Innovation in providing expertise, vision, and leadership to instructors, administrators, and community interest groups in the designated area of expertise, specifically, industry placement for apprenticeships and internships. Collaborate with the CTE Administrators and the department of Career and Innovation to lead the continuous improvement in instructional practices of the designated content area for all students. Facilitate all work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for students and CTE teachers. Work directly with industry to establish new partnerships and advance current partnerships.

The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.
  • Develop, implement, oversee, and manage industry placement for apprenticeships and internships for secondary programs. [Daily, 25%]
  • Facilitate all work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for students and CTE teachers. Coordinate with industry partners and teachers to provide targeted WBL opportunities for students including, but not limited to, apprenticeships, internships, externships, job shadows, guest speakers, etc. Develop and implement processes and procedures for tracking WBL participation in CTE pathways. Partner with the CTE WBL Instructor to create valuable WBL experiences and curricula for students. [Daily, 25%]
  • Lead the formation, development, and maintenance of new and existing industry partnerships in order to provide opportunities for student achievement. Collect, organize and scrub industry partner data within the Salesforce Platform [Daily, 20%]
  • Support programming that helps underrepresented students explore fields in current and emerging professions, in addition to promotional CTE programming including, but not limited to, CTE promotional events, career-related field trips, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) conferences, Professionals of Color conference, Professionals of Color panels, Women in Work conference, district PASS meetings, etc. [Daily, 20%]
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with all CTE colleagues, ensuring collective and collaborative support for the CTE mission and vision. Facilitate and lead annual CTE trainings. [Annual, 5%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of instructional leadership or staff development experience.
  • Experience in the classroom teaching students/educational background.
  • Experience establishing partnerships with business and industry.
  • Experience developing, leading, and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Experience organizing groups, coordinating activities, and supervising projects with an emphasis on innovation and student achievement.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Colorado Career and Technical Education.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of infusing educational technology, 21st Century Literacy skills, and standards-based curriculum into instructional practice to enhance student achievement.

  • Ability to participate in ongoing staff development to enhance the knowledge base as a district staff developer, including active participation in district level initiatives.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Ability to promote and follow the Board of Education policies, District policies, and building and department procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.
  • Colorado teaching license.
  • Colorado driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain Colorado Secondary CTE Work-Based Learning Coordinator credential within 6 months of hire.

  • Master's degree.
  • Five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Colorado Secondary CTE Work-Based Learning Coordinator credential.
  • Colorado Administrator/Principal License.
  • Advanced knowledge of Colorado Career and Technical Education.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Normal school district and office environment.
  • Moderate physical effort (lifting up to 25 pounds).
  • Frequent standing and walking.
