Child Nutrition Technical Support Assistant Supervisor

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide support and manage the technology needs and systems of the Child Nutrition Department. The employee is expected to provide technical assistance with the installation, setup, and repair of computers, software, and peripherals via troubleshooting or physical repair to computers and software. The employee is responsible for analyzing information from a variety of sources to compose emails, create reports, and provide informational data. The employee is also expected to analyze and resolve problems independently. This position works within the Child Nutrition department and provides excellent customer service and technical support to office staff and cafeteria managers at 75+ school cafes. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Child Nutrition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides direct technical assistance and support to the Child Nutrition Department.
  • Manage, monitor, and close technology work order tickets.
  • Manage all IT fixed assets for the Child Nutrition Department.
  • Maintain and organize inventory of registers, monitors, laptops, printers, computer parts, and technology-based equipment in a small inventory area, using software and physical equipment such as ladders, rolling carts, and heavy sliding-shelf units.
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and set up technology devices and software.
  • Provide repair of laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, and other electronic devices using basic tools and intermediate troubleshooting skills.
  • Responsible for setup, configuration, and distribution of computers, printers, registers, or other electronic devices for the Child Nutrition Department.
  • Establish network connections which may include wiring, cable preparation, setting up workstations, local area networks, file servers, hubs, and any other technical network-attached devices.
  • Responsible for removing and recording inventory from cafeterias and the Child Nutrition office.
  • Coordinate hardware and software rollouts, support, upgrades, network connectivity, and deployment.
  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots district-based printers.
  • Supports district-based cloud applications (Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office 365, Google apps for Education, etc.) and Child Nutrition vendors (Fusion, Nutrikids, etc).
  • Assimilates and analyzes data to compile reports in multiple formats.
  • Manages and creates badges for the Child Nutrition Department employees.
  • Serves as liaison between the Technology Department, Vendors (Nutrikids, Fusion), and the Child Nutrition Department.
  • Provides technology-related updates to Child Nutrition leadership routinely.
  • Attends leadership team meetings and other scheduled meetings as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Skill in troubleshooting various software and hardware issues and provide appropriate and timely solutions.
  • Skills in disassembly, parts replacement, and reassembly of laptop and desktop computers, and some mobile devices.
  • Ability to perform minor network and network cable repairs.
  • Ability to classify technology parts and equipment by function, purpose, and/or model in an inventory setting.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and support computers and software.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think analytically.
  • Ability to communicate clearly through verbal, written, and electronic forms.
  • Ability to perform minor network and network cable repairs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to compose correspondence, including but not limited to e-mails, professional documents, presentations, and training.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license, have a satisfactory driving record, and have access to a vehicle during work hours to travel to meetings or work sites.
  • Ability to learn Child Nutrition specific technology and programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum: Associates Degree related to the occupation and 2 years IT support related work experience.
  • Desirable: Associates Degree (or higher) and 5 years IT support related experience.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Desirable: Industry Certifications: A+ or Net+
Pay Grade: LF - $3,406 Minimum Monthly Salary - Full Time Position
