SUMMARY
Under general supervision, plans and executes projects as needed. Creates project and communication plans, assembles and oversees project teams, and coordinates change management.

• Coordinates planning and implementation of projects including scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Creates and implements communication plans for projects to keep all stakeholders up-to-date on project progress.
• Creates follow-up plans for evaluation of implemented projects.
• Collaborates with outside partners.
• Develops and delivers project-related trainings for district staff.
• Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
• Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and MPS information.
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; AND two (2) years of professional experience coordinating events, programs, and/or projects; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

Knowledge of:
• Minneapolis Public Schools policies and regulations.
• Principles and practices for project management and organizational development.
• Minneapolis Public Schools and Service Center Departments, as well as outside partners.
• Principles and techniques for project management and organizational development.
• Techniques and practices for efficient and cost effective management of resources.
• Principles of record keeping and records management.
• Computer software applications related to duties.

Skill in:
• Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
• Analyzing data and recommending effective solutions.
• Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, leadership and stakeholders.
• Operating a personal computer utilizing a wide variety of specialized software.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Minnesota Driver's License may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work, heavy phone usage, and ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
