GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for providing support to the instructional program by assisting with the management of early childhood programs and services; directing assigned programs and services at early childhood sites. In addition, responsible for providing information and serving as a resource to others; supervising assigned staff; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise at sites or with enrolled students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Collaborates with staff and community partners improving the overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established classroom objectives.

Evaluates assigned personnel ensuring achievement of standards and maximized performance.

Facilitate and participate in a variety of meetings convening and /or gathering information; coordinating activities; and/or ensuring successful outcomes of school, district, and/or state objectives.

Facilitates the development, communication implementation and evaluation of quality learning by enhancing excellence, equality and equity for staff and students.

Implements policies, procedures, new programs and/or processes providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements to ensure a safe and effective learning climate for students.

Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.

Manages a variety of school administrative functions as assigned by the Director IV - Early Childhood / Parents as Teachers maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines.

Observes classroom instruction in order to coach teachers, evaluate the implementation of established curriculum, instructional techniques and classroom management.

Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Prepares a wide variety of written materials documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.

Reports incidents maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to applicable laws and/or regulations.

Responds to a variety of inquiries resolving problems, providing information, and/or referring inquiries to appropriate personnel.

Supervises school personnel monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall curriculum objectives.

Performs other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Master's Degree in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership from an accredited college or university, required.

Minimum of four (4) years of job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

Missouri Early Childhood Education Certificate, required.

Ability to obtain and maintain "Highly Qualified" status as defined by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues, draw conclusions and create action plans.

Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; conflict resolution; bookkeeping principles, and concepts of management and supervision.

Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including operating standard office equipment including using a variety of software applications; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.

Ability to work with others under a wide variety of circumstances; working with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
