Physical Therapist - Bilingual Evaluation Team Pre-K & K-12 [10 Month B.E.S.T.] (SY 22-23)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide direct physical therapy services to students enrolled in the Providence Schools accordance with IEPs and 504 plans and to complete evaluations as needed.

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university. School based experience preferred.

License required by the RI Department of Health: Physical Therapist

Must be fluent in Spanish.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES
  1. For students whose primary language is Spanish, scheduling of physical therapy evaluations and completion of written physical therapy evaluations
  2. May provide direct physical therapy services to students consistent with IEP requirements
  3. May provide consultation to classroom teachers and staff as needed and required by IEPs
  4. May provide written reports on services provided and/or progress notes as required by the special education office
  5. Willingness to work as an itinerant to cover all components of this assignment
  6. Willingness to work with families on carry-over activities for the home setting and scheduling of therapy sessions
  7. Willingness to complete home instruction for PT services
  8. Documentation of services for Medicaid purposes
  9. Willingness to work as part of a therapy team
  10. Any/all duties that may be assigned by the Director of Special Education
NOTES:
  1. This position covers all levels, early childhood through high school.
