Job Description
The Tapestry Program of Rutland City Public School and Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union are looking for a new SAFE Coordinator for our Rutland Town Program.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone interested maximizing student engagement and outcomes by orientating children and families to the program, working with the site level team to maintain a high-quality program where children are safe, engaged in learning and exploration. The SAFE Coordinator promotes supportive learning environments by, coaching staff on skills to enhance positive climate and interactions, and removes financial barriers by assisting families with the financial aid and/or child care subsidy application processes. Ideal candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred, in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or Education with a number of years of experience working with children and families as well as possess strong, collaborative leadership skills.
The Coordinator responsibilities include: providing a weekly program or activity that promotes social, emotional and/or life skills; supporting the program site operations, assisting with program planning and staffing schedules, and develop and share communications (family newsletters, etc.); completing and participating in student and program assessments (YPQI, etc.); providing recommendations for the program, as appropriate and working with the Site Coordinator to promote and monitor progress toward the goals of the program improvement plan.
Anticipated Schedule: The afterschool program follows the school calendar (~20 hours per week). The summer program runs for six to seven (~ 25-40 hours per week).
All candidates must meet VAE and local qualifications, including passing background checks.
