Irving A Robbins Middle School has an opening for a Writing Tutor working 16.25 hours per week, school year; no medical benefits.
Position starts February 2023.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelors degree is required for the position of Tutor.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Tutors provide instruction support and/or reinforcement of the instructional program for selected students under the supervision of a teacher.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives instructional assignments from and works collaboratively with classroom teachers or special education teacher.
Provides individual or small group tutorials for assigned pupils in a variety of settings under the direction of a special education or classroom teacher
Monitors and supervises students in a variety of settings.
Assists teachers in monitoring pupil academic or behavioral progress by assessing and recording pupil performance.
Prepares summary reports of pupil contacts as required.
Participates in meetings regarding student programs as requested by the teacher and/or an administrator.
Attends child study teams and/or parent conferences as required.
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION:
Is supervised by classroom or special education teacher who will contribute in the evaluation process. Formal evaluation will be conducted annually by building principal or assistant principal
Salary: $25.01 per hour
