PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for performing professional accounting work and maintaining financial records under the supervision of the Director of Accounting Services
REPORTS TO: Controller
SALARY SCHEDULE: G-10
WORK DAYS: 250

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in a related area of study
  2. Experience, Skill, and Certification:
  • Work experience in a responsible position maintaining accounting records
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of internal controls
  • Ability to prepare defined financial reports
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access software
  • Experience with mainframe financial systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills Preferred: Knowledge of and previous experience in governmental accounting
Essential Duties:
  1. Prepares various financial reports and schedules.
  2. Prepares accurate and timely financial data at the direction of the Controller.
  3. Prepares financial progress reports for grants and programs.
  4. Prepares monthly analyses and reconciliations.
  5. Prepares schedules and reports for annual and special audits, as directed.
  6. Prepares bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  7. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on Grade 10 of the classified hourly scale and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. The work calendar will normally be 250 days. Non-exempt. Revised 10-21

OFFICE Employees in this category are normally exposed to a typical environment. The employee has some control over the length of time sitting, standing, or ambulating. There are occasions that require the lifting or pulling of equipment or supplies, as well as bending, stooping, or stretching. There is frequent use of computers, telephone, and other standard office equipment, which includes reading, listening, writing, or speaking. There are few exceptional physical or sensory demands.
