Summary:

The Professional learning Coordinator will plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate system level professional learning activities to include orientation, induction, mentoring, instructional coaching, and district wide professional learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily 10% In collaboration with the Director, the Coordinator will provide leadership and direction for employee orientation, induction, teacher leadership opportunities, and district wide professional learning. Daily 25% Direct and manage learning activities for a variety of programs including induction, teacher leadership, and professional development. Wkly 10% Provide professional learning support to school administration, instructional coaches, and district teams through scheduled visits and observations within schools. Mnthly 15% Provide leadership and training for instructional coaches/teaching partners throughout the course of the year. To include workshops, institutes, and job embedded learning. Daily 10% Work cooperatively with other Coordinators, Consultants, Coaches, and TOSAs across the Division of Equity and Learning to develop programs and learning opportunities connected to the district goals and outcomes. Mnthly 10% Plan, conduct, and evaluate professional learning activities throughout Aurora Public Schools Qrtly 5% Review the strategic plan, Unified Improvement Plan and school based plans to identify needs for professional learning and coordinate training among schools with similar needs. Daily 10% Lead a vision for professional learning that incorporates adult learning best practice and utilizes National Standards for professional learning. Supports training of facilitation for all members of the Division Yrly 5% Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Master's degree in education, organizational development, adult learning theory or professional development

EXPERIENCE:

At least one year experience in professional learning and development

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Teacher or principal license required upon hire

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY:

None required

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Employee will be responsible for participating in developing, monitoring and coordinating the professional learning budget.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee in this position is frequently required required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee in this position is occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds
