General Description
Assists the principal with school-based leadership, instruction, curriculum, and development of effective teaching and learning strategies. Coordinate assessment, generate data analysis at the school level, and assist in the planning process for school improvement. Promotes best practices in instruction and administration through data analysis, classroom observation, and collaboration with school teams. Leads Meadowbrook High School school improvement process alongside the principal. Structure instruction for struggling learners through small groups, push in, or pull out models. Emphasis on the creation of customized learning plans including the use of academic mastery data reports and possible use of student data journals as efficacy building instructional tools for increased learner success.

Strong knowledge of instructional classroom strategies, student academic assessment, remediation activities/strategies, and data use, analysis, and interpretation. Attention to detail. Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills. Ability to motivate, encourage, and challenge students to participate in remediation activities. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of the Virginia Assessment System and its programs, protocols, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make program decisions and improvements. Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, and experience using spreadsheets and/or database systems required.
Requirements
Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license. Master's degree preferred in Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Guidance, or a related field. Three years of successful experience with classroom instruction, testing, tutoring and/or remediation services.

Essential Job Functions
- Assures effective implementation of the school improvement plan that includes measurable, long-term goals related to student academic achievement and conducts periodic review of schools' improvement efforts.
- Analyzes and communicates standardized test results and assists school improvement teams with the interpretation and use of multiple data in the development and evaluation of school improvement plans.
- Conducts training on action research, data analysis, and specific phases of school improvement planning.
- Provides professional development to administration and teachers on using assessment data to inform instruction.
- Acts as a liaison between the district school improvement office and the school to provide a high level of technical advice support to the school and staff during the planning, review and implementation of the School Innovation and Improvement process.
- Provide customized level two or three instruction to students through data driven remediation matched to the developmental and achievement levels of the struggling learner through a small group, pull-out or push-in model.
- Provide individual learning plans that detail intervention, remediation, monitoring, and tutorial activities for core teachers and hired tutors to use during remediation instruction at the school site.
- Explore the initial implementation of electronic student data journals to be used as an efficacy-building instructional tool in the individual learning plan for struggling learners.
- Supporting core teachers in differentiation and customized learning instructional strategies for the increased success of struggling learners during level one classroom instruction.
- Serve as the School Test Coordinator (STC);
- Serve in the school support team (SST) communicator role.
- Providing data for the school administrative team, central office, and VDOE as requested.
- Analyze assessment data as it relates to the school, individual student achievement, and to the improvement of instruction.
- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of an effective plan to reduce the amount of discipline referrals.
- Assists the building principal in other areas as deemed necessary.
- Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
