This is a 10 month position working 40 hours per week.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the SCSP negotiated labor agreement. The labor agreement and salary schedule can be found at https://www.spps.org/Page/33566 .

- Working knowledge of the structure and operations of urban public schools.
- Working knowledge of local, national and international resources in the project program areas.
- Working knowledge of basic budgeting principles.
- Knowledge of research methodology and techniques.
- Knowledge of the techniques for providing good customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop successful working relationships with persons representing diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement projects.
- Ability to evaluate information and prepare recommendations
Responsibilities
- A position in the Project Coordinator job classification may be assigned duties that are not included in the examples listed or it may not perform all the examples of duties listed.
- Determines the parameters of department or program projects, including timelines; people involved; space, equipment, and/or transportation needs; food; communication vehicles (e.g., brochures, flyers) and mailing requirements; and other project-related requirements as appropriate; coordinates all aspects of the project to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Provides documentation of project needs and obtain the necessary administrative approvals.
- Provides project information for those participating in the project; develop program communications, both internal and external; designs and prepares newsletters, brochures, flyers and other related program documentation.
- Establishes and maintains contacts with representatives of businesses, non-profits and other government agencies, district staff or others as appropriate to promote and implement program initiatives.
- Provides team leadership for program activities; facilitate meetings; recruit others to serve as volunteers.
- Compiles and analyzes data for projects; prepares project reports and recommendations to administration as required or appropriate.
- Establishes and maintains budget information based upon department or grant budget(s); ensures that guidelines for expenditures are followed.
- Develops methods to maintain program records; develops other program documentation as appropriate.
- Organizes, develops and facilitates new work or training processes as required by the program or grant.
- Identifies potential funding sources; assists with the preparation of grant proposals and applications for desired projects or activities.
- May provide day-to-day work direction to assigned program staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
