Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit OR have completed the 12 units in required courses listed below.

-Requirements for Child Development Associate Teacher Permit: Complete a minimum of 12 semester units of course work in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (excluding field work), including at least one course of at least three semester units in each of the following core areas:

• Child/human growth and development

• Child, family, and community, or child and family relations

• Programs/curriculum

***Foreign transcripts must first be evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation center.***

• Certification (Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or enrolled in a child development program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree to be completed in 2 years. -Requirements: Complete a minimum of 12 semester units of course work in ECE or Child Development (excluding field work), including at least one course of at least 3 semester units in each of the following core areas: • Child/human growth & development • Child, family & community, or child & family relations • Programs/curriculum )
• Certificate Copy (OR California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST))
OR Other (OR 48 semester units grade C- or better OR AA degree or higher with 12 Early Childhood Education semester units (official transcripts required) ) OR Paraprofessional Testing (Paraeducator Certification, such as the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Paraeducator Certification OR Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Certification from EGUSD or ANY district.
